Science Exhibition - A Fun-filled and Learning Experience

“I hear and I forget, I see and I remember, I do and I understand.“ - Confucius

Jain International Residential School (JIRS) conducted a science exhibition on the 2nd of December 2022 to provide a platform for the students to use their scientific knowledge and kindle their scientific temper. The exhibition was inaugurated by Mr. Sanjeev Sinha, Principal of JIRS. Mr. Rudra Kumar Sharma, the Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Gopal Raj, the IBDP Coordinator, and the Vice Principals of CBSE and IBDP/IGCSE were among the other dignitaries in attendance at the ceremony. The exhibition started with a traditional lighting of Kuthuvilakku and the principal declared the exhibition open.

Around 135 exhibits, including functioning models created by students, were on display at the event. The students explained the models to the guests with immense zeal and excitement. The models of drip irrigation, perpetual machines, rainwater harvesting, circulatory systems, and circuit games were a few of the junior-grade students' standout efforts. Models of a Tesla coil, hydraulic devices, and water level indicators were on show by the senior students. The IGCSE and IBDP students showed their exhibits, which included models of drones, greenhouses, magnetic pendulums, and the human double circulatory system. A Chemistry Corner was set up to showcase some interesting experiments like elephant toothpaste, soap preparation, and underwater candle. An interesting experiment of Carbide Canon was carried out by students in the open ground, where they demonstrated the explosion. Also, the students exhibited a wide collection of flowers in the herbarium model. The students also had fun games with circuits using LEDs.

The entire display was fascinating, entertaining, and educational and featured several scientific advancements and concepts. The resounding success of the event was greatly attributed to the students' diligent labour, cooperation, and teamwork, which were expertly encouraged and supervised by the teachers.
