The Investiture Ceremony of Jain International Residential School for the academic session 2018-2019 was held with great pomp and dignity in a special ceremony at the school hockey ground.

The event was presided over by our Hon’ble Chief Guest Wg. Cdr. Naveen Kaushik who was commissioned in the Logistic Branch of the Indian Air Force. During his 21 years of service, he has held various important command assignments and staff appointments at frontline Air Force Bases. He also participated in critical frontline operations such as Operation Vijay, Operation Parakram and Operation Rakshak. He is an excellent cricketer and has played cricket for Chandigarh and Haryana States. He has won a gold medal in the fly weight category at the Inter-State level boxing championship.

The other dignitaries who were present at the ceremony were Wg. Cdr. K. L. Sharma (Retd), Chief Executive Officer, JIRS; Mrs. Ambuj Sharma, Public Relations Officer/ Head Mistress, JIRS; Mr. Rudra Kumar Sharma, Chief Operating Officer, JIRS; and Wg. Cdr. Arijit Ghosh (Retd), Chief Operating Officer of Jain Academy for Sporting Excellence.

Also present were the torch bearers of education at JIRS, the Principals and Vice – Principals. We had present amongst us Mr. W. R. David, Principal; Mr. U. K. Seal, Vice Principal – IGCSE; Mr. N. Kalai Rajan , Vice Principal – IB; Mr. Anil Kumar Rai, Vice Principal – Senior School, CBSE; and Mrs. Maya Devi V. K., Vice Principal – Junior School, CBSE.

The Investiture ceremony signifies the reliance and confidence that the school has in the newly invested office bearers. Donning the mantle of accountability, they also pledge to perform their duties to the best of their abilities.

The ceremony was held with lots of zeal and zest. It was conducted with the highest degree of earnestness and passion.

It commenced with the march past by the students of our Senior and Middle School led by the newly appointed School Head Boy Master Yuvraj Kedia and Head Girl Miss. Pranjal H. Faldu . They were conferred with badges and sashes by our Honourable Chief Guest. The Students’ Council took the pledge to uphold the school’s glorious traditions.

The Chief Guest congratulated the members of the Students’ Council and advised them to be impartial and honest in discharging their duties. He also encouraged them to uphold the values of the School. He reminded them that with position comes responsibility towards themselves, their School and peers.
