The students of Jain International Residential School (JIRS) seldom miss home because of the school’s unique tradition of celebrating all the festivals. This year too was no different; Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated with gaiety and fervor by blending spiritualism, heritage, and cultural activities that engaged the students. The festivities commenced with song and dance competitions that displayed the talent and potential of the students. The highlight of the day was the combined performance of JIRS students and Kalinda School students from Australia who were here on a student exchange programme. They captivated the audience with their mesmerizing dance routines. This was followed by the challenging Matki Phod competition, which evinced spirited and enthusiastic response from the students. Later, the entire student and teacher community celebrated Janmashtami by singing Bhajans and swinging Krishna Jhoola accompanied by Aarti.
